So I haven’t posted in a while.. I think I live inside a bit too much nowadays; everything is so complicated in my head sometimes that I lose my voice. As always though, the muteness doesn’t seem to apply to writing.
I went to see the Naked and Famous at Heaven with Yeen a few weeks ago. They were great. I want to marry the lead singer a bit (not as much as I want to marry Karen O or Caryn though (; ). We didn’t show up for the starting acts as they’re usually crap at indie concerts here; caught the last song of their second (and last) opening act and it was actually alright. Gonna see if I can find them and post something. The Naked and Famous played everything they had which lasted just over an hour I think. They didn’t sound exactly as they do on the album but still sounded good which was nice (I hate when bands sound pre-recorded when live!). They seemed really down to earth (no plaid shirts haha) and that was refreshing. Definitely worth the £12; I hope they keep making music. They’ve got some good stuff and I’d like to see them make some more original songs (some are heavily influenced by passion pit/mgmt/empire of the sun and a few hint at Radiohead).
What else is new? I pulled off my 4th extension for a lab report on Friday haha. Oh and I’m going to die next week as I have 3 exams and an oral and a lab report due. I’m not ready for 2 of those exams at all -.- As in… I didn’t go to any of the lectures and haven’t seen the lecture notes ever. I think part of me likes to make my life difficult haha. Every time I pull off a good score in a test or exam without trying much it’s like some part of my brain is like: “oh yeah? Think you can blag your way through exams? Alright, try not going to lectures, not reading the notes, not getting any sleep and then sitting the test. THINK YOU CAN DO THAT, PUNK?!”. I really need to take the Easter break to catch up and sort out my life academically -.-.
The song is Sleeping Lessons by The Shins. The song came up on shuffle just now and I felt the urge to post it. Fucking awesome band.
