Got bored of revising for my exams and decided to piss about on La Blogotheque for a bit. This is un concert à emporter by Tallest Man on Earth, I quite like it. Spent most of today learning about the atomic origins of magnetism :( so boring.

THE MORNING BENDERS -
Une soirée de poche La Blogotheque just uploaded on the Morning Benders.
Been listening to them for a bit now and I just realised from this video that some of the band members are half asian awesome possum.
They’ve toured with Grizzly Bear, Death Cab, and The Kooks! Also they’ve played with Yeasayer, Holls I think you’d love their music too :)
Their 2008 album Talking Through Tin Cans was named the best alternative album by iTunes!
Another brilliant live session:
Also on a random note I love their album cover for Big Echo:

About a week ago I found a website much like La Blogotheque, called the Black Cab Sessions! Ever since I found it I’ve been spending hours watching their videos. What they do is similar to La Blogotheque’s Concerts à Emporter videos, everything is in acoustic except recorded in an English black cab within one take!
Here are some of my favourites so far:
Oops it seems I can’t embed the videos here, so just click on those links to watch them.
There’s heaps more videos like this from The Kooks, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Mumford & Sons, Doves, Band of Horses… Anyway go check it out, you will spend hours on there haha promise.
I wish they would have a compilation of all these acoustic versions, they are soooooo good.
Also Holls does this not blow your mind… that one of these cabs in London that drive past you could have these bands! wowwwwww
I don’t think I’ve ever posted on the Dodos before, but they are definitely worth a listen and I really like them.
Anyways here are my favourite songs by the Dodos:
Fables, off their latest album Time to Die
Walking, off their 2008 album Visitor.
Winter, off Visitor
The Dodos sur La Blogotheque dans une Soirée de Poche (different to Concerts a Emporter)
If you guys want any of these songs I’ll send it to you through skype (since I have no idea how we would be able to host mp3’s on C4F4).
- Caryn.
P.S. Holls I added tags! I just felt like la Blogotheque needed one of their own =]

Gotta love La Blogotheque!
Oh god, the first 15 seconds are the exact same tone as the fire alarm at my hall. Fuck. Just listening to it reminds me of standing outside on the grass at 4am, cold and tired (and possibly hungover) as all hell.
- Holly
Noah and the Whale.
Another obsession of mine.
Not only are they great at making music but they also can produce beautiful films (the thumbnail does the video no justice). I want to watch their film!
Oh the blue skies are calling
But I know that it’s hard
Noah and the Whale on la Blogotheque:

The fact that they are Parisian and that the lead guitarist wears nerdy glasses and has messy hair makes this band even more amazing.
They have a blog themselves, filled with photos (which looks like they are taken with a Holga! Triple win)

Now let me introduce the second love of both Holly and I!
- La Blogotheque.
It is a French website dedicated to music, and their Concerts à Emporter are always amazing. It shows many bands (I will always refer to La Blogotheque and their awesome Concerts à Emporter with other bands) playing live on the streets of Paris, down little streets of Montmatre to touristy areas like le Trocadéro and by la tour Eiffel.
La Blogotheque + Phoenix = mind blowing!
Thomas Mars sounds great and everything together works perfectly, along with the married couple watching them in the first video to the guy asking at the end why no one knew they were Phoenix!

Also, the acoustic versions of their songs are great too!
Listen to their older albums, especially It’s Never Been Like That and you will fall in love with Phoenix even more.
